1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe 2-Door Hardtop in Vintage Burgundy with Arctic White side spears, tan bucket seat interior, and factory Deluxe hubcaps. ABSOLUTELY MINT CONDITION, MATCHING NUMBERS, FRAME-OFF RESTORED, FACTORY HiPo SOLID LIFTER K-CODE CAR WITH ONLY 56,680 ACTUAL MILES!! Extremely rare car with only two owner's since new, purchased brand new at the legendary Tasca Ford with all documentation, and in MINT CONDITION!! The original matching numbers 289 high-nodular steel engine is 100% factory correct and still fitted with the original solid-lifter cam, original K-Code only C30F-AJ carburetor, original 20-casting HiPo heads, original dual-point distributor, original 10.5 :1 pistons, original cast iron factory headers, original cast iron intake manifold, and original aircleaner assembly. Every clamp is factory correct. Every hose is factory correct. Every sticker is factory correct. No reproduction parts, no aftermarket parts, no modifications. Fires right up and settles into a lopey idle with a deep aggressive exhaust note from the correct dual exhaust and the gentle ticking of the solid lifters. There are no mechanical issues; no smoke, no leaks, no noises; and runs nicely on premium pump gas. PULLS HARD THROUGH THE REV RANGE, HOWLS WHEN YOU GIVE IT THE GAS, HAS LOTS OF MIDRANGE, STRONG HIGH RPM HORSEPOWER, AND FEELS LIKE A SHELBY MUSTANG!! These are the first K-Code engines (and transmissions) which Carroll Shelby later placed in his 1965 GT350s and rated at 306 horsepower. The 4-speed manual transmission shifts perfectly and the factory 3.50 positraction rearend provides powerful acceleration while allowing relaxed high speed use. The entire drivetrain has been rebuilt and full photographic documentation has been kept. Like all K-Code cars, no power steering, no power brakes; but steers easy and with those huge drums, stops with authority. Gorgeous factory original Deluxe tan with the original silver piping bucket seat interior with the center console and factory floor shifter. This is the same shifter later used in the Shelby Mustangs and is still fitted with the original concave shift knob. THE CONDITION OF THIS ORIGINAL INTERIOR IS INCREDIBLE!! There is no wear, there are no marks, there are no scuffs, it looks completely brand new. No wear on the original steering wheel. No wear on the original pedals. No sunfade on the original dash. No wear on the original controls. No wear on the original knobs. All gauges are bright and shiny. The original radio is in place and plays beautifully. Everything works correctly. The seats are supportive and comfortable. The carpets are excellent. PERFECT BODY with no dents, no dings, no waves. The car was completely hand sanded down to bare metal and the photographs of the body in shiny steel show how perfect this body is. All panels are factory original, the floor pans and trunk pans are original and flawless, there are no patches or replacement panels. The underside of the car is correctly done in chassis black paint and the factory applied sound deadener is still inside the rear quarters. The correct Vintage Burgundy with Arctic White paint is done to exact factory standards and is gorgeous. No nicks, no chips, no flaws, and with that slight hint of orange peel that is correct from the factory. The previous owner emphatically did not want this to look like custom paintwork and insisted on it being exactly factory correct and it appears exactly like when brand new. Perfect chrome bumpers front and rear. Perfect front grille and rear tail panel. Perfect tail light bezels and headlight surrounds. All brightwork was professionally polished to brand new factory standards. Excellent original glass and all windows operate smoothly. Excellent weatherstripping, window whiskers, and trunk seal. The trunk is show detailed and contains the original spare tire, original jack assembly, and the original trunk mat. The original steel wheels and the original Deluxe tribar hubcaps are installed on the car (and they too are show quality) and a brand new set of raised -white-letter Firestone Radials installed. All original documents from Tasca Ford are framed for display (included on a tri-pod stand), two mirrors to be placed under the car at shows are included, and a photo album documenting the car's authentic internal parts and the restoration process is included. Although this car runs and drives perfectly, it is far too rare and far too special for the casual muscle car enthusiast. This car deserves to be owned by a serious Ford collector who knows what it is and will keep it in this condition. Without question, the finest K-Code Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe available.
