1960 Volkswagen Convertible in gorgeous Rock Gray with a Beige interior and black canvas convertible top. MINT CONDITION VW Convertible from California with only 43,368 miles and full Volkswagen Heritage documentation! The 1200cc 36 horsepower engine has been professionally rebuilt and is 100% factory stock. Fires right up and settles into a smooth idle with a quiet exhaust note from the correct dual chrome exhaust pipes. Pulls nicely through the RPM range and has more than enough power to run with modern traffic and cruise at 65-70 mph. Runs perfectly on 87 octane regular gas; there are no mechanical issues (no smoke, no leaks, no noises); and gets 35-38 miles per gallon in general use. The 4-speed transmission shifts perfectly and the transaxle has also been rebuilt and a new clutch assembly installed. Mint condition factory correct Beige leatherette interior in brand new condition. The seats front & rear have been professionally rebuilt and correctly recovered. The inner door panel upholstery has been correctly replaced, and a full carpet kit and cocoa mats installed. The dash is correctly painted Rock Gray and the original steering wheel has no wear, no cracks in the rim, and is also in beautiful condition. The original Saphire I AM radio is still in place and works perfectly. The fuel lever under the dash has the optional extension and operates smoothly through the three positions (Off, On, & Reserve). All lights inside & out operate properly as do the turn signals, windshield wipers, and 80 mph speedometer. Perfect all steel body with no rust, no damage, no patch panels. No dents, no dings, no waves, perfect factory original panel fit, and the floor pans are excellent. Beautiful paint in correct factory Rock Gray and done to show standards using top quality German formula modern paint. This is the factory original very rare color and is an interesting mix of high gloss medium gray and moss green pigments. Brand new premium canvas convertible top with the glass rear window, polished metal stays, and white interior headliner; operates smoothly and easily, and the parade boot is included. Dual side mirrors. Excellent glass and all windows operate smoothly. Excellent weatherstripping and front & rear trunk moldings. Excellent original chrome bumpers with optional bumper guards front & rear. Excellent glass covers over the headlights. Excellent brightwork and chrome trim. The trunk contains the spare tire, original jack assembly, factory tool kit, and fiberboard trunk mat; and both the front trunk and the rear engine compartment are show detailed. The factory steel wheels are fitted with correct 165R15 whitewall tires made by Coker Classics and excellent factory chrome hubcaps.
